Industrial carwashes

Ecomarca operates in the sector of industrial carwashes and it is responsible for the waste water treatment resulting from heavy goods vehicles or tanks for the carriage of liquid food.

WASTE WATER TREATMENT

Waste water obtained from washing vehicles typically contains solid residues such as sand and dust, mineral oils, surfactants, organic residues and other micro pollutants. This waste water may not be drained directly into a waterway nor into the public waste water system, as provided for by Italian Legislative Decree No. 152/06, and therefore it requires a suitable waste water treatment.

To date, the most widely used treatment systems in the market are physico-chemical plants. Unfortunately, over the years, these plants highlighted high costs for the use of chemical products and additional costs for waste disposal. They are also characterized by a functional complexity that often impairs their efficiency.

Our solution

Ecomarca uses the most advanced technologies available for making purifiers, which combine biological processes with the most advanced systems of separation of clarified water. Ecomarca chose and suggests to its customers flat ceramic membranes since, with respect to other types made with other materials, typically polymeric, they guarantee a very high durability over time, continuous purifying effectiveness and very low maintenance costs.

MBR purifiers have the advantage of being particularly compact and they consequently require smaller volumes, the flow rate processed being equal; inside these plants all the water is micro filtered through membranes and purity of purified water is such as to allow the reuse.

Inside these closed-circuit car washing plants, water going out from the purification process is immediately reused for other subsequent washings; in doing so, the purifier does not discharge water and the customer does not need to request any discharge authorisation.

These purifiers are managed by special software allowing the automatic and interactive operation and ensure low treatment and maintenance costs.

Features and benefits

The standard installation is normally constituted by a section to remove solids and oils, a biological section of degradation of pollutants, a section for the extraction of micro filtered water and a section for accumulated purified water for subsequent reuse.

The heart of the entire treatment process is constituted by M.B.R. system that replaces the traditional settler/decanter and allows to obtain several benefits including:

• Strong reduction of treatment volumes;
• High yields of purifying process;
• High mineralization of sludge produced and, consequently, the reduction of volumes to be disposed of;
